The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has established a partnership with South Pole to operationalize the D-REC concept, a new financial instrument to aggregate investments in Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) projects in developing countries.

The D-REC Initiative was presented at two side events as part of the ministerial-level UN High Level Dialogue on Energy Thematic Forums, which bring together key stakeholders to mobilize actions as major milestones on the road to the High-level Dialogue on Energy in September 2021.
